About Me

I am currently pursuing my masters in Educational Technology at the University of Texas at Brownsville.  This is my first time ever doing online classes and have realize they can be a challenge.  One of our assignments is creating an e-portfolio which I hope will have all needed elements.  I was born in Tampico, Mexico and moved to the Brownsville, Texas, when I was about 10 years old.  Since then, I have lived here and feel this is my true home as I love the people and the community.  I chose the picture of me and my family because I feel they are a very important aspect in my life and because I am all about family.  I care so much about the values I install in my students that hope my son will also  benefit from me being an educator.  I have been a teacher at Gonzalez Elementary here in Brownsville, and I just love it.  I am currently the Technology Support Teacher at my campus and find it very rewarding when teachers tell me they are using their equipment thanks to the classes I give them in school. 

Professional Development

As a teacher I feel our growth must never stop and this is why I have tried to attend as much Professional Development as possible.  Here I will list the dates and type of courses I have completed.

SCIENCES FAIR 05/15/2004

Attended Science Fair to have one student participate in it in which she won 1^st place for her project on “Soil and Water Retention.”

INTRODUCTION TO INQUIRY 01/05/2004

Attended a one week training to come back to Brownsville ISD and teach other teachers about Inquiry Based Teachings. 

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION 11/08/2003

Completed 8 hour training on technology integration for Brownsville ISD which helped create a closer group of teachers who would be in charge of helping other teachers at the campus level.
